The MAD Movie-A-Thon-O-Rama
Thursday, April 25, 2024 6 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.
Our April John Carpenter Double Feature concludes with Snake Plissken's return in Escape from L.A. After the big one, Los Angeles becomes an island that the President of the United States turns into a maximum security detention center for society's undesirables. When his daughter Utopia flees to the island with a Doomsday device, the President utilizes recently captured master criminal (I mean, for a criminal who keeps getting caught) Snake Plissken to find her. When Snake arrives on L.A. Island he meets a group of misfits who help him on his mission in exchange for freedom. Escape from L.A. is a spectacular drive-in action movie, like a live action comic book or video game that sees our hero facing various threats and bad guys during his journey. Also stars Cliff Robertson, Pam Grier, Steve Buscemi, Stacy Keach, Peter Fonda and George Corraface. Adult language, adult situations and action movie violence. (101 minutes.) The Auditorium opens at 6:00 p.m. and the movie begins at 6:30 p.m. Food and drink are allowed in the Auditorium during the movie.
