Sword of the Stranger (2007, Action/Adventure, 1h 43m, NR)
While traveling to a place of supposed safety, a young boy named Kotaru and his faithful dog Tobimaru are attacked by a mysterious group of sinister men. Just when it seems their luck has run out, they encounter a solemn swordsman calling himself “Nanashi” (literally “nameless”), whose past binds him as tightly as the cloth keeping his sword sheathed. Despite this handicap, Nanashi skillfully saves them and then grudgingly agrees to be their bodyguard; but when their foes prove to be far more dangerous and deranged than expected, Nanashi will have to face his past at long last, and finally draw his sword if he wants to save Kotaro.
An epic samurai tale of bravery and redemption, from Studio Bones (Fullmetal Alchemist, Noragami, Bungo Stray Dogs, My Hero Academia).
