Creature from Black Lake (1976)
The MAD Movie-A-Thon-O-Rama takes over May's 5th Thursday with this classic 70s drive-in creature feature! Students Rives (John David Carson) and Pahoo (Dennis Fimple) travel down to the Louisiana swamp lands searching for proof of Bigfoot. They interview many small town people who claim to have seen the beast, but they're not happy until get face to face with the creature. (City folks crack me up.) A hit at ozoners all across the country during the summer of '76, it's also probably one of the best Bigfoot movies ever made. It stars a bunch of people your parents would recognize from TV but would never be able to remember their names in a million years. Creature from Black Lake was Rated PG by the MPA in 1976 for adult language, situations and humor, swamp terror, monster terror, gratuitous 70s fashion and gratuitous Jack Elam as an excitable trapper who can't hold his liquor. The Auditorium opens at 6:00 p.m. and the movie begins at 6:30 p.m. Food and drink are allowed in the Auditorium during the flick. 91 minutes.
