Big Fish (2003)

A man heads to Alabama to spend time with his dying father, who he sees as an incorrigible fabulist who turns everything he says about his past into an unbelievable tall tale. While there, he attempts to track down the truth of his father’s life.

Starring Ewan Macgregor, Albert Finney, and Billy Crudup, Big Fish was written by John August, who had read Daniel Wallace’s novel and immediately began campaigning to turn it into a movie. When Steven Spielberg dropped out of directing the film, Tim Burton stepped in to direct and add his own personal visual style.
