Madison Green: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow with Madison Greenways and Trails
Tuesday, August 4, 2026 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Join Madison Greenways and Trails (MG&T) for a tour of three beautiful local green spaces. Discuss with our volunteers our perspective on the past three decades of promoting public places to walk, hike, and bike in in our booming city.
Allison will describe the founding of MG&T and our work with the City of Madison and Land Trust to develop the extremely popular and easily accessible Bradford Creek Greenway.
Michael and Brian will present an overview of the Rainbow Mountain Preserve, its beautiful rocky ridges, and sometimes challenging four miles of hiking trails. They’ll describe how we work with the City of Madison and Land Trust to preserve and maintain this sacred area.
Jim will describe a new preserve taking shape in the center of town with beautiful woods, streams and springs, ideally located for a Greenway extension to connect east and west sides of town.
Meet-and-greet with light refreshments at 6:00 p.m. The program begins at 6:30 p.m. Come out and meet fellow hikers and nature lovers and discuss great places to walk, hike, and bike in our area. This program is in Auditorium #1.
