Anime Matinee (At Night!): The Boy and the Beast

The Boy and the Beast (2015, 1h 59m, PG-13)

Kumatetsu, a warrior from the world of beasts, is one of two candidates competing to take over as the next Grandmaster.  However, unlike his opponent, he has never been successful at training an apprentice so when he finds Kyuta orphaned and living on the streets of Shibuya he offers to teach him.  Although Kyuta begins to view Kumatetsu as a surrogate father figure, when he finds his way back to the world of humans he is torn about where he truly belongs.  As the final competition draws closer, a darkness emerges that threatens both worlds.  Will these two warriors be able to work together in order to save everything and everyone that they care about?  

The Auditorium opens at 6:00 p.m. and the movie begins at 6:30 p.m. Food and drink are allowed in the auditorium during the film.  We will be watching this film in Japanese with English subtitles.

NOTE: The Boy and the Beast is rated PG-13 and this program is intended for adult audiences.
