Join host David Lilly as he brings a year of Forgotten Classics to the Downtown Huntsville Public Library.
This week see Darby O’Gill and the Little People (1959). A wily old codger matches wits with the King of the Leprechauns and helps play matchmaker for his daughter and the strapping lad who has replaced him as caretaker. This film in rated G. Leonard Maltin praises the film in his book The Disney Films, calling it "not only one of Disney's best films, but [also it] is certainly one of the best fantasies ever put on film." In a later article, he included it among a list of outstanding lesser-known Disney films.
