It's time to get real with these enduring real lives. Between the Lives is a book club for readers who enjoy autobiographies and memoirs. This month's pick is

Wave by Sonali Deraniyagala.

Winner of the PEN Ackerley Prize in 2013 and a National Book Critic's Circle Award Finalist, Wave tells the heart-wrenching story of one woman's survival in a tsunami and how she must overcome losing the ones she loves in the process.

In 2004, at a beach resort on the coast of Sri Lanka, Sonali Deraniyagala and her family—parents, husband, sons—were swept away by a tsunami. Only Sonali survived to tell their tale. This is her account of the nearly incomprehensible event and its aftermath.

Between the Lives meets on the 2nd Sunday of the month at 2pm at the Downtown Huntsville Public Library in the 2nd Floor Workforce Development Classroom.
