In conjunction with the Scottsboro Boys travel exhibition that is being hosted at the Downtown Huntsville Public Library we are presenting Black in the South.  A film series that looks at the historical Black experience in the South through the lens of cinema.

This week is To Kill a Mockingbird, the 1962 classic film starring Gregory Peck.  Atticus Finch, a widowed lawyer in Depression-era Alabama, defends a Black man against an undeserved rape charge, and tries to educate his young children against prejudice.
