Early European pioneers arrived in North Alabama to a region of forests, open lands, rivers, and wetlands. Their very survival required that they adapt and become self-sufficient, living on and from the land. Steve will present information on the flora, fauna, and ecosystems of North Alabama at the time pioneers arrived in the late eighteenth century. How has North Alabama changed changed and what does the future hold?  Steve Jones PhD is a nature enthusiast and retired forester.

Come a little early for a meet and greet with the Madison History Association.
