May’s film will be from the 90s: Forrest Gump

Forrest Gump is a 1994 American drama directed by Robert Zemeckis and based on the novel by Winston Groom. The film stars Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump, a kind-hearted man with a low IQ whose simple outlook on life leads him through some of the most defining moments of 20th-century American history. From a small town in Alabama to the battlefields of Vietnam, the heights of athletic fame, and unexpected financial success, Forrest moves through life guided by honesty, loyalty, and an unwavering belief in doing his best. Along the way, his enduring love for his childhood friend Jenny anchors the story with longing and heartbreak. Blending historical events with personal triumphs and losses, Forrest Gump is known for its emotional warmth, iconic performances, and timeless themes of destiny, love, and the quiet power of perseverance, reminding audiences that an extraordinary life can grow from the simplest intentions.
