Life of Pi (2012)
A writer seeking a subject for a book is directed to a man in Montreal, who proceeds to tell him the story of his life, focusing on how, while moving their family’s zoo from India to Canada, a horrible shipwreck led to him crossing the ocean on a life raft with an enormous Bengal tiger for company.
The Life of Pi was nominated for 11 Academy Awards, more than any other film that year, and won four: Best Director (Ang Lee), Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, and Best Score.
Stories We Tell – A Film Series
This film series focuses on storytellers and how the stories they tell reflect, distort, or influence the world around both the teller and the listener, from bedside book readings to tall tales, improvised epics to implausible autobiographies.
