It's time to get real with these enduring real lives. Between the Lives is a book club for readers who enjoy autobiographies and memoirs. This month's pick is
Winner of the PEN Ackerley Prize in 2013 and a National Book Critic's Circle Award Finalist, Wave tells the heart-wrenching story of one woman's survival in a tsunami and how she must overcome losing the ones she loves in the process.
In 2004, at a beach resort on the coast of Sri Lanka, Sonali Deraniyagala and her family—parents, husband, sons—were swept away by a tsunami. Only Sonali survived to tell their tale. This is her account of the nearly incomprehensible event and its aftermath.
