For those who enjoy stories on the page as well as on the screen, we invite you to join us as we discuss books adapted into movies and tv shows. This month we are discussing The Book of Magic by Alice Hoffman.

If you're familiar with the Owen sisters, Sally and Gillian, from Hoffman's novel, Practical Magic, and the 1998 movie of the same name, get ready for another spellbinding story in the sequel, The Book of Magic, which focuses on the character, Aunt Jet.

The Owens family has been cursed in matters of love for over three-hundred years, but all of that is about to change. The novel begins in a library, the best place for a story to be conjured, when beloved aunt Jet Owens hears the deathwatch beetle and knows she has only seven days to live. Jet is not the only one in danger--the curse is already at work.

Whether you're new to the curse, or a fan of the original book/movie, be sure to grab your broomsticks for a wild ride in Practical Magic 2, premiering in theaters, September 18th!

Page to Screen Book Club meets at the Downtown Huntsville Public Library on the 4th Tuesday of the month in the 2nd Floor Workforce Development Classroom.
